Best Next.js SaaS boilerplates in 2026

Wlad K.·Published ·Last updated

There is no single best Next.js SaaS boilerplate in 2026. Buyers search that phrase because they need a shortlist with prices they can check, not a crown. This post is the editorial roundup. The live table lives on boilerplate comparisons. Competitor-first shortlists live on alternatives.

Kits below were last checked on 2026-09-14 against vendor sites. Promo blocks rotate. Re-check before you pay.

How to read this list

Pick on framework, tenancy, and time — then price.

  1. Framework. If the codebase must be Next.js App Router, drop Open SaaS (Wasp). next-forge is Next.js, but it is a Clerk + Neon monorepo.
  2. Tenancy. Owner / admin / member is enough for most indie SaaS. Workspace-heavy B2B is why MakerKit and Supastarter cost more.
  3. What you will still wire. Every kit leaves product code to you. The difference is whether auth, Stripe, email, and SEO pages already exist.

NextBento is on this list because it is a $59 Next.js 16 + Supabase + Stripe kit with programmatic SEO templates. It is the wrong kit if you need organizations, i18n, or MongoDB on day one.

What actually changed in 2026

Most 2025 roundups still describe Next.js 14/15 kits. NextBento, MakerKit, and Indie Kit ship Next.js 16 and React 19. That matters if your agent already assumes App Router, Server Actions, and current next APIs. A kit that stalls on 14 will spend your first week on upgrades, not on the product.

AI help also split. Some kits ship ChatGPT prompts for legal pages. Others ship AGENTS.md plus in-repo skills. NextBento ships eight skills in the product repo. Indie Kit markets a larger catalog. MakerKit adds MCP and agent rules. None of that is an in-app chat runtime.

Who each kit is for

NextBento — You already chose Next.js + Supabase + Stripe + Resend. You want owner/admin/member teams (billing on the owner), comparison/integration/glossary pages from JSON, and Cursor / Claude skills that follow this stack. Pricing is $59 one-time. Setup: quick start.

ShipFast — You want Marc's landing-page kit, optional MongoDB or Lemon Squeezy, and the Discord. Stay there if that community is the product. Shortlist: ShipFast alternatives. One-to-one: NextBento vs ShipFast. Long-form: ShipFast alternatives.

MakerKit — You are building multi-tenant B2B and will use orgs, impersonation, and i18n. Pay $349+ for that, or use Lite if free and limited is enough. MakerKit alternatives.

Supastarter — You need seats, extra frameworks, or a heavier AGENTS.md kit and you accept $299 Solo. Supastarter alternatives.

Indie Kit — Closest price + AI-skills competitor to NextBento. Confirm the live tier; listings lag. Indie Kit alternatives.

Official starter — The license must be $0 and you will add email, teams, and SEO yourself.
